Director’s Note:
In late 2020, JC and I wanted to capture the feeling of that tumultuous year, at least what it meant to us as closely and intimately as we could in a video. The uncertainties, anxieties and frustrations all pent up within our heads for what dragged from months and months, into a year and beyond.
What we sought to create was a visual poem to encapsulate these feelings. We wanted it to be as loose and free as it possibly could, with no roadmap on the style or content.
A big thank you to a small but impressive team that shot this in the heart of Winter in the midst of a pandemic and for our star Bronte, who willingly jumped into the Pacific Ocean in late December at 5AM! We even had a water damaged camera from the ocean as a casualty in the process.
I sincerely hope you find this piece meaningful. It genuinely was for me.
