Director’s Note:
When my friend Garrett Backstrom and I were approached by start up coffee company Kingdom Koffee, we were immediately interested in their mission of providing coffee on a monthly subscription base model, along with the fact that their vision was always about so much more than selling coffee or profits. Their mission was to use over 70% of the profits to fund important initiatives in the world, such as mission trips and supplies to countries overseas that desperately needed resources, food and hope. What transpired was creating a vision for this commercial to showcase the people that the profits were helping directly and firsthand on the ground, as opposed to promoting beauty shots of coffee and promoting the coffee as the central point of the commercial. What transpired was a transformative trip to Uganda, Africa where we shot and edited a mission trip and witnessed firsthand how life changing these resources and proceeds were to the people there, most in need. Creating this video kickstarted the company's online presence, along with changing our lives and witnessing the incredible beauty and profound kindness and joy of the African people.
